In addition to The Caldwell Partners, national sponsors include Deloitte, National Bank Financial, The Globe and Mail, and WestJet.
Dr. Ahmed joins a stellar group of Canadians selected from over 1200 nominees by an independent Advisory Board, comprised of 25 business leaders from across Canada. Honourees were chosen on five key criteria: vision and leadership; innovation and achievement; impact; community involvement and contribution; and strategy for growth.
Hospital president and CEO, Michelle DiEmanuele says the honor is long-overdue for Dr. Ahmed. “Making a difference in the lives of our patients is what everyone at Credit Valley strives to do. What Dr. Ahmed does through his surgical expertise is life-altering for those individuals who would suffer total vision loss without his intervention. I am very proud and privileged to have Dr. Ahmed as part of our surgical team at Credit Valley.”
Dr. Ahmed acknowledges his award in this way; "More than anything, this award means two things for me: 1. recognition of all those in my life who supported and helped me to achieve success -- my family, my mentors, my colleagues, my students, my friends and my patients, and 2. recognition of innovation and out-of-the box thinking, challenging established ideas and assumptions, and obsession with micro-surgical technical skills with a passion for improving medical outcomes."
